We met in elementary school, became friends in middle school, and by the end of our junior year of high school, we realized our effortless friendship was actually us falling in love. We got married. We now have two wonderful daughters, a few animals, and a market garden we love growing in.

In 2023 we moved onto the farm and started Your Neighbor's Farmstand, for a reason that was never complicated: we wanted our family eating food we grew. We wanted to share with our neighbors. It turned out our neighbors were happy with us wanting to share good food while it’s fresh.

So now we grow a bunch of produce! Sweet corn from mid-July, tomatoes until the frost takes them, plants in the spring, and a little bit more in between. We are blessed to be able to have lots of growing space at our home and at Johnny’s mom & dad’s farm, which is a stunning and diverse piece of land that sits just outside of La Plata, where there are hens in the barn year round and cattle in the pasture (you can find that farm raised beef and more at his brother's store, in La Plata).

Johnny has a love of soil science and crop production, Brittany simply loves the magical feel of growing from seed, and the peace that a day in the garden gives her. In the middle of all of that: there's a stand out front that mostly runs on trust: that’s Your Neighbor’s Farmstand, the original honor stand on our home farm in Bel Alton, Maryland.
