Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 20, 2026

This is the privacy policy for Your Neighbors Farmstand, LLC, a family farm in Bel Alton, Maryland. It covers yourneighborsfarmstand.com, our online shop, and our farm map, nearby.farm (also at farms.yourneighborsfarmstand.com). Our short address, yourneighbors.farm, points to this site.

The short version

  • We collect as little as we can and only use it for the reason you gave it to us.

  • We never sell your information, and we don't use ad trackers.

  • Neighbor names and emails are never shown on the map.

  • You can ask us to show you, fix or delete what we have about you at any time.

What we collect, and why

Newsletter

If you sign up, we keep your email address so we can send you the newsletter. That's all it's used for. Every newsletter has an unsubscribe link. The signup form uses Google reCAPTCHA to keep robots out.

Shop orders

When you buy something, we get your name, email, shipping address and what you ordered. Payments are handled by Squarespace Payments (which runs on Stripe) or by PayPal or Venmo if you check out that way. We never see or keep your full card number. Our shirts, hats and hoodies are printed and shipped by our print partner, Printful, so they get your name and shipping address to send your order. We keep order records as long as tax and bookkeeping rules require.

"Tell us about a farm"

This form asks about the business: its name, what kind of place it is, roughly where it is, why you love it, and its website or social media. Your name and email are optional, and we only use them if we have a follow-up question. We never put your name on a listing. If you tick the newsletter box, we add your email to the newsletter too. If you don't, we don't.

Emailing us

If you write to hello@yourneighborsfarmstand.com or farms@yourneighborsfarmstand.com, we keep the email so we can answer it and keep track of listing changes.

Farm map listings

Listings show public business information, the kind of thing you'd put on a sign or business card: the business name, the town, what kind of place it is, what they grow or sell, their season, and their website or social links. A public phone number or email only shows if the business wants it shown. Most listings show the town only, and a street address shows only when the business wants it there (stores usually do). We never show payment information of any kind, and listings don't have photos.

Some listings started from public business information we gathered ourselves. Any business can update, pause or remove its listing at any time, for any reason or no reason, by emailing farms@yourneighborsfarmstand.com.

Owner check-ins (coming this winter)

Once these start, each listed business will get an email every 9 to 12 months with a private link and four buttons: Still open, Update my info, Pause for the season, or Remove me. We keep the private contact email used for this, never show it, and never add it to the newsletter. We keep a record of which button was pressed and when, so we can stand behind the date on the listing. There are no accounts and no passwords.

Neighbor check-ins (coming this winter)

Once these start, anyone who stops by a farm can tell us it was open. We'll ask for your name, email and phone number so we know a real person sent it.

  • Your name and email are stored privately. They're used only to follow up on your report and to stop abuse. They're never shown on the map, never sold and never added to the newsletter. We delete them after 24 months.

  • Your phone number is checked to keep robots out, then thrown away. We don't store it.

  • We keep the date of your visit and which listing it was for.

  • All the public sees is "Freshness check: [date] · by a neighbor."

  • The form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to keep robots out. You need to be 18 or older to send a check-in.

What happens automatically when you visit

  • The main site and shop run on Squarespace, which uses cookies so your cart works, the site stays secure, and we can see basic visit counts. We don't use Facebook, Google or other advertising trackers.

  • The farm map runs on Cloudflare. Cloudflare Web Analytics counts visits without cookies. The map pieces load from OpenStreetMap (the map itself), Google Fonts (the lettering) and jsDelivr (the map code), so those services see your device's internet address the same way any website does.

  • "Near me" on the map only works if you allow it in your browser. Your location is used in your browser to sort nearby farms. We don't save it. If you type a town or ZIP instead, we use it to find farms near that spot and don't tie it to you.

  • Instagram and YouTube. Our homepage shows our Instagram posts and some blog posts include YouTube videos. Those companies may set their own cookies when their content loads or plays.

  • Affiliate links. Some blog posts have Amazon links. If you click one, Amazon uses its own cookies so we get a small commission at no cost to you. Amazon doesn't tell us who you are.

Who else touches your information

Only the services we use to run things, and only for that job: Squarespace (our website, shop and newsletter), Squarespace Payments/Stripe and PayPal (payments), Printful (printing and shipping), Google Workspace (our email), Cloudflare (the map and its robot check), Supabase (the map's database), Resend (the service that will send map emails) and Google reCAPTCHA (robot checks on our forms). We'll also share information if the law requires it. That's the whole list.

What we never do

  • Sell or rent anyone's information.

  • Use your information for ads, or let anyone else do it.

  • Show who sent a neighbor check-in.

  • Put payment information on the map for any business, ours included.

  • Store passwords. There's nothing to log in to.

Your choices

  • Unsubscribe from the newsletter with the link at the bottom of any email.

  • Email hello@yourneighborsfarmstand.com to see, fix or delete what we have about you. We'll answer within 30 days, and usually sooner. We're a farm, so in July it may take a little longer.

  • Businesses can pause or remove their listing anytime at farms@yourneighborsfarmstand.com. No reason needed.

  • You can turn off location sharing and clear cookies in your browser settings anytime.

Kids

This site isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect anything from them. If you think a child has sent us their information, email us and we'll delete it.

Keeping it safe

We're a small farm business, not a tech company, so we keep things simple: we collect as little as possible, use well-known services to hold it, keep private information locked away from the public side of the map, and don't store passwords. No system is perfect. If something ever leaks, we'll tell the people affected and do what the law requires.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top and say what changed.
